The National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has written to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to inform the electoral umpire of the authenticity of Mr Tochukwu Okorie as the party's Chairman in Ebonyi State.
This was contained in a letter signed by the PDP National Chairman, Iyochia Ayu and the Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.
The letter with the number: PDP/DOM/GF.2/VOL.1A/22-106, was dated Tuesday, May 31, 2022, and addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Zambezi Cresent, Maitama District, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The letter was also copied to the Resident Electoral Commission, REC, Ebonyi State Chapter.
Unveiling its recognised Ebonyi State Chairman, the PDP urged the INEC to: "Please refer to our letter which informed the commission of the party's decision to comply with the Federal High Court decision in Suit #FHC/ABJ/CS/139/2021.
"We now wish to inform the commission that the Appellate Court has upturned the decision of the Lower Court in Suit #CA/CV/444/2022 and total obedience to the Appellate Court judgement, our recognised State Chairman in Ebonyi is Mr Okorie Tochukwu Okoroafor."
The PDP national leadership further urged the INEC to accord Okorie the necessary support he might need to perform his constitutional roles as the party Chairman in Ebonyi State while commending the usual cooperation of the commission.
