The Ebonyi Governorship Candidate, Dr Sunday Andrew Opoke, under the platform of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, has reaffirmed his faith in God's designed structure to win the apex seat in the state in 2023 polls.
He stated this on Saturday during the 25th Diocesan Christian Men's Fellowship Conference of Anglican Communion in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State Capital.
Opoke who anchored his hope for a landslide victory on God said his declaration and emergence under his party platform to contest for the state governorship position was a divine arrangement.
"My calling to come and serve Ebonyi people as their governor was revealed to me when I was in a mechanic village. On that fateful day, a man came and told me, 'you will be governor of Ebonyi State.
"He gave a sign, and said, 'your governor will defect to another party, when he defects, start warming up. I'm a man who loves everything within my system and I don't want to hear anything that would go inconsistent.
"But I was able to ask a few questions, what about the money and structure? He said those things will not be a problem. He said 'by the time you become a governor, Ebonyians must rejoice because they have suffered enough.'
"That's why on my billboard, it's inscribed, "Ebonyi Rejoice," Opoke disclosed.
He said his emergence as the Chief Servant of the Ebonyi people in 2023 would give rise to a gospel revolution and wealth creation in the state, urging all the God-fearing societies to support him to change the ugly narratives heralded in the state since its creation, especially in the areas of civil service reform and industrialization.
"God has found a man. I have two assignments when I become the governor of our state - Gospel revolution and wealth creation. I will create wealth for all of you, through industrialization that only the weak and poor people will be looking for government jobs," he promised.
Opoke maintained that his administration if emerged as governor would liberate the Ebonyi people from the shackles of darkness, saying God has chosen him to flush out alleged 'occultic men' from the seat of power while soliciting their support.
He said, his determination to end poverty in Ebonyi would be very vast that all the citizens of the state, especially the youth after being gainfully empowered can compete favourably with their counterparts in the western countries
"My administration will end poverty, and after my tenure, only the weak and poor ones will be seeking government jobs. I have travelled to Western countries, but I assure you, if I become the governor, what is happening in the developed countries will happen in Ebonyi State.
"I will snatch the power from the occultic men, it's a charge from the Almighty God, and as an eye and mouthpiece of God, it's time to liberate His people from the shackles of Satanic agents in our state," he said.
He said his exposure, connections and experience are far greater than other gubernatorial candidates in Ebonyi, disclosing that he is currently a water consultant to over five countries while expressing readiness to make the State another country in Nigeria after his administration.
Anglican Bishop preaches against intake of hard drugs, other toxic nutrients
.
The Cleric while addressing the Christian men at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Ndiagu in Abakakliki town, noted that the purpose of creating man in His image was to use him as an instrument for productivity and promotion of good things.
He said that God's love for humans remains enormous even after their shortfalls, still showed them mercies, allowing them to drive in abundant grace.
He said that God in His continuous effort to have no end to the human race on Earth needs a total man for the service of humanity.
He further urged the congregation to stop the intake of hard drugs, alcohol and other harmful nutrients to protect the longevity of their lives.
He said the intake of harmful nutrients by some people has prevailed in anti-human life activities, insisting that its resultant effects only spelt different disasters in the society and God's anger is always aroused.
The Bishop urged the people to allow themselves to be used by God Almighty to fulfil the reasons behind their existence on Earth, instead of embarking on unlawful practices in the society.
