Nwifuru gave the assurance on Tuesday during the induction ceremony of the 2023 Batch 'C' Stream '1' Corps members at old MacGregor College in Afikpo, Ebonyi State.
The state governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Sports and Youths Development, Hon Richard Idike commended the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC for having been committed to fulfilling its objectives since its inception 50 years ago.
According to him, NYSC has been promoting national unity, integration and accelerated socio-economic development of the nation as well as instilling in our youths a tradition of industry at work, and patriotic and loyal service to Nigeria.
"It is a thing of joy therefore, as graduates from various institutions, diverse cultures and backgrounds gather for service to fatherland.
"The scheme which you are today inducted into has over the years served as a veritable instrument of national development and a strong bond that binds together our multifarious ethnic nationalities into one people.
"In view of this all-important role of the scheme, the expectations are enormous as you are duty-bound to build on the enviable achievements of your predecessors whose patriotic efforts have sustained the noble NYSC scheme and our nation.
"The best of your ability is desirable during this singular opportunity you have to serve the nation in whatever location you are posted.
"Lastly, let me assure you of our continuous support and security to wherever you may be posted to, be also informed that at the end of the service year, the government honours and rewards the outstanding ones among you."
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke while congratulating the corps members for their successful gradation and deployment for the national service, said, the three-week long orientation exercise is regimented and packaged to instil in them the disciplined mind and sense of self-reliance needed to face the challenges ahead during and after their service year.
The Coordinator also appreciated Governor Francis Nwifuru for the support and attention the NYSC has always enjoyed in Ebonyi State, especially his government of inclusion in which, she said, the members of the scheme were not left out.
