The Governor of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria, Chief Francis Nwifuru has Inaugurated a Coordinator of Effium Development Center, Chief Ogbonna Nwogbaga to ensure that permanent Peace returns to Effium and Ezza Effium Community where Communal crisis has engulfed for the Past three years.
This is part of an effort by the Governor of Ebonyi State since his swearing-in on 29th May 2023 to ensure that all Communities and Villages in the State are at peace at all times.
This appointment was second to none as the Governor made the appointment from the Izzi extraction of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State where he felt that the people from there have been neutral since the crisis started.
Nwifuru also appointed other 63 Development Center Coordinators to ensure that the rural dwellers feel the presence of the Government.
The Coordinator, Chief Ogbonna Nwogbaga during the reception Ceremony in his house in Abakaliki the State Capital said God had sent him to return permanent peace in the Area.
"I believe that my appointment as a Coordinator was never by accident, it was purely the will of God Almighty. I urge both Effium and Ezza Effium people to support me in my project of coming to make peace in the Area". Nwogbaga added.
"By the special grace of God, from today henceforth, there will be no more killings in the Area because the Governor of the State has deemed it necessary to end the crisis in all nooks and crannies of Ebonyi State". He said.
Nwogbaga thanked the Governor of the State for maintaining peace in all parts of the State since he came to power.
He promised to work very hard with the Governor of the State to achieve peace at all costs in line with the peace initiative of the present Government.
The former Minister of Power and Steel Chief Godwin Ogbaga encouraged the newly appointed Coordinator to work hard to deliver on the mandate given to him.
On his part, the President Effium Development Union, Prince James Agenda promised to give the newly inaugurated Coordinator the necessary support.
