Ambassador Nwannebuike Ominyi, President of the League of African Ambassadors, has commended the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for its decision to lift sanctions on Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger.

Speaking on behalf of the League of African Ambassadors, Ambassador Ominyi expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed TINUBU, Chairperson of the ECOWAS Authority, and the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS for their decisive leadership in this matter.
The President who spoke through his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Iduma Chris Mayor said, the lifting of sanctions underscores ECOWAS's commitment to safeguarding the welfare of African citizens and underscores the spirit of resilience and unity.
The decision by ECOWAS underscores the efficacy of dialogue and collaborative efforts in resolving disputes and addressing challenges within the community. It emphasizes the imperative of remaining united within the ECOWAS family to promote peace, stability, progress, and prosperity.
Ambassador Ominyi called upon the governments of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger to reciprocate this goodwill by reaffirming their commitment to ECOWAS's principles and values. He emphasized that withdrawal from the community is not a solution; rather, embracing dialogue and cooperation offers constructive avenues for addressing common challenges.
