Ebonyi State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Oladeinde Foluke has extolled the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru especially its support for the scheme since assumed his present office.
Mrs Oladeinde made the commendation during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch 'A' Stream '1' Corps members orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, old MacGregor College Afikpo.
According to her, Governor Nwifuru's support has contributed to the overall success of the camp exercise and the meal augmentation for the Corps members in the state.
She confirmed that the state governor took good care of the welfare and security of Corps members and NYSC staff including the ongoing construction of work in the camp.
Mrs Oladeinde further commended Nwifuru for hosting the NYSC Director General, Brig. Gen. YD Ahmed and his entourage during their working visit to camp, among other gestures.
She also lauded the security agencies and other collaborating organisations for their resourceful contributions, which in her words, made the camp orientation exercise for the corps members, a successful one.
While commending the corps members' excellent disposition during their orientation course in the camp, the Coordinator urged them to remain good ambassadors of their respective families, NYSC and the country in general.
She advised the new Corps members to shun any act capable of breaching the peace and unity of the country but promote national integration and development.
"Today, you leave the camp to your various places of primary assignment, I admonish you to be law-abiding accommodating and diligent; kindly accept the people of the host community, respect their culture, and enter the young ones.
"Remember that you are the mirror through which the world sees NYSC and you are the pride of this country," the Coordinator added.
NATIONAL PANEL learnt the 1,481 Corps members of Batch 'A' Stream '1' deployed to the camp were dispatched by the NYSC officials to their various host communities in the state.
