It was a galore of praises and jubilation at Onuebor Nome Ishieke Community in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State as the National Union of Medical Herbal Practitioners (NUMHP), Ebonyi State Chapter decorated Eze Dr Ferdinand Iziogo as the Omeruoha 1 of the union during the weekend.
Our correspondent reports that Eze Ferdinand Iziogo who is presently the Traditional Prime Minister of Nduegu Ishieke Community in Benue State, has bagged many chieftaincy titles and excellent awards because of his humanitarian services right from a young age especially when he served as the town President community.
Speaking during the event which took place at Iziogo's compound in Onuebor Nome Ishieke, the Ebonyi State NUMHP Chairman, Chief Dr Madubuchi Ojiugwo said his members decided to crown him as the Omeruoha 1 of their union because of his great impact in touching humanity and track records in peacebuilding.
Ojiugwo accompanied by the teeming members of the Ebonyi State NUMHP Vice Chairman - Chief Dr Okechukwu Ogbonna, State Patron - Chief Dr Godwin Onwe, the Woman Leader - Dr Ujunwa Oyibe, the Izzi Council Chairman of the Union - Dr Sunday Ugbo, his Secretary - Chief Dr Eze Ugo Orimiri Atata the Woman leader in Izzi LGA - Dr Ezinne Christian Akpa Nwangele, Dr Boniface Nwoja - the State Financial Secretary; among others described Iziogo as a man of the people whose philanthropic gestures knew no bounds.
The Unoin's State Chairman commended Iziogo's ingenuity and accomplishments in the use of herbs, roots and other natural means to treat sick people, saying those who had distinguished themselves in the herbal world like him deserved special recognition of the union.
He noted that the Union would never encourage any evil mechanization and warned those using their herbal recovery power to witch-hunt humans to stop or risk being fished out to face the full wrath of the law.
He promised to use his good office as the Pioneer Chairman of the NUMHP in Ebonyi State to improve traditional medicine practices while assuring unwavering support for Governor Francis Nwifuru-led administration.
Also speaking, the Onuebor Nome Ishieke Village Head, Chief Sylvester Okebili commended the Eze Iziogo for his outstanding lifestyle which led to his coronation as the Omeruoha 1 of Izhi land by the NUMHP.
He noted that traditional medicine practitioners are people endowed by God to heal patients with herbs, roots and other natural elements.
He described Eze Iziogo as a blessed man from his childhood, noting that he had served as the town union of the community and left good legacies in the area.
Chief Okebili said the people of the community will continue to celebrate Iziogo while praying for God to elevate him more for the benefit of humanity.
In addition, the Councilor representing Ijigban Ward in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, Adayi Adiku (aka Rasco) equally hailed Iziogo and described his new chieftaincy coronation as a well-deserved one.
According to the ward councillor, Eze Iziogo is a prominent figure in terms of helping the downtrodden, promoting peaceful coexistence and committed to community development.
While urging the Community leader to sustain the tempo, Adiku assured that the present government in Benue State would continue to bring dividends of democracy to the area.
He commended the member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, for embarking on infrastructure development in his constituency saying his road construction has reached Ijigban and already brought electricity to Onuebor Nome.
He assured that before 2027, Dr Francis Ottah Agbo popularly known as the Ozigizaga and the Moving Train of Enone, could not hide his shock at infrastructure transformation and human empowerment in his constituency.
Meanwhile, Eze Ferdinand Iziogo has thanked the members of NUMHP for finding him worthy of the Chieftaincy title.
Iziogo, the husband of eight wives and 58 children with many grandchildren said the recognition by NUMHP would be serving as his energizer in rendering humanitarian services.
He commended the present government functionaries across the nation especially those who have used their good offices to promote peace, unity and progress in his community and equally assured of his unwavering support to them.
Highlights of the occasion were officially issuing the Chieftaincy Certificate to Eze Iziogo by the Chairman of Ebonyi State NUMHP, live band competitions, cultural dances and a display of masquerades, among others.
