The Ebonyi state government has received the newly crowned five traditional rulers of Ikwo communities.
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Stephen Uchenna Igwe received the traditional rulers following their presentation by the Executive Chairman of Ikwo local government area, Barrister Sunday Nwankwo yesterday in Abakaliki.
Our correspondent reports that the official presentation of the traditional rulers to the state governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru would be carried out by Commissioner Igwe.
In his remarks, the Ikwo Council Boss informed the Commissioner that the coronations of the five traditional rulers in their various communities have brought lasting peace and unity to the council.
Nwankwo commended Governor Nwifuru whom he described as not only a leader but a master of human capital development in Ebonyi State.
The five traditional rulers included HRH Eze Francis Eze Igwe - the Agomugbala 11 of Ndufu Alike Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Pius Nte Ube - the Mkpoke 1 of Ndufu Echara Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Major Mgbebu Onwe (RTD) - Ova IV of Inyimagu Oreke Ejeje Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Ezekiel Onyika Agaramugede 11 of Autonomous Community and HRH Eze Isaiah Otubo Ogwudu 111 of Ndiegu Amaegu Autonomous Community all in Ikwo Local Government Area.
On receiving the delegation, Commissioner Igwe thanked the delegations for the good job done and advised the newly crowned traditional rulers to always adhere to the policies and programmes of the State government and ensure adequate peace and security in their various communities.
In a note of appreciation, the Commissioner said: "I am overwhelmed with joy because today is a special day in my office since my assumption of office, receiving five (5) traditional Rulers once in my office from the same Local Government Area."
He further admonished the Executive Chairman of Ikwo LGA Bar. Sunday Nwankwor for his Administrative prowess in the Council especially in the areas of peace and security
The Commissioner in his further speech informed the delegation from the five communities that the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State is a man of integrity, who has delivered most of his campaign promises to Ebonyi people and that the Governor is ever ready to ensure that every nook and crannies in Ebonyi State benefit from his Administrative mantra of People's Charter of Needs.
