Stakeholders of Ezza North LGA have called on the State Governor, Francis Nwifuru to Compensate the former Secretary Ebonyi State movement and a famous founding father, Late Barr Felix Mgbada.
This was contained in a press release, the group handed over to journalists in Abakaliki the Ebonyi State Capital.
The release was signed by the leader of the group, one-time Vice Chairman of Ezza North LGA John Naudo Nweze and Secretary Mattbolins Igwe.
The group emphasized that the late Elder state man, Felix Mgbada contributed meaningfully to the growth of the state and human capital development while he was alive.
The group said other founding fathers have benefited from the state creation but the former Secretary of the movement who laid his life during the struggle for state creation is yet to be compensated.
The press release reads in parts:
"It is imperative to bring to you: the fourth Estate of the realm the resolutions of Ezza North Stakeholders after extensive media interactions with Direct Reporters TV"
"We wish to plead with the Committee members on Zoning to look into the yearning of the people of Izzo and Ezza North in general. Ezza North never had any agreement on the rotation of her chairmanship position for Two Tenures. This is to ensure equity amongst the constituent communities"
"The Elders of Ezza North met at Ngamgbo Ebiaji in Umuoghara Community to review the progress after Dr Nora Aloh's tenure and agreed that there shall be no more Second term in Ezza North LGA again. In other words the era of the second tenure ended with Governor Martin Elechi's administration when he imposed Barr Ikeuwa Omebe on us for the Second term"
"However, David Umahi brought Dr Nora Aloh as a caretaker chairman, who also was elected twice within the seven years at a stretch. Nonetheless, it is expected that the two blocs had second Tenures respectively. On this premise, it is the turn of Izzos to produce the next Council Chairman of Ezza North LGA in the interest of peace, equity and fairness. Ebonyi no doubt is a front runner of equity"
"We also wish to bring to notice that Umuoghara is the only community out of the three principal Communities in the Izzo clan that is yet to get her fair share from the Council Area since the return of Democracy in 1999"
"We are also pleading with His Excellency the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State Blder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and the Committee on Zoning to not just zone it to Izzo but Umuoghara and narrow it down to the family of Late Barr Felix Mgbada, a famous founding father who did everything within his powers to ensure that Ebonyi State was created"
"Owelle who was the secretary of the group that championed the cause of Ebonyi State creation needs to be appreciated by encouraging his Son, High Chief Okechukwu Mgbada to lead his people"
"It's our earnest prayers that the Leadership of the zoning committee should look into our earnest yearnings and grant our request in the interest of the LGA"'
