The Secretary Ebonyi Central Zone of the People's Democratic Party PDP Engr. Kingdom Otubo said he has concluded plans to join the Ruling All Progressive Congress APC in his Amagu/Nsokkara Ward tomorrow the 6th of May 2024.
This was contained in a press release he made available to journalists in Abakaliki the Ebonyi State capital on Monday, the 5th of May, 2024.
Engr. Kingdom said, that after critical analysis of the people's oriented administration of the state Governor, Francis Nwifuru, he was convinced that his decision is one of the best things he can offer his people adding that the party has also done well for sponsoring one of his elder brothers, Kenneth Eze as a senator.
He added that after due consultations with stakeholders and his supporters, he decided to make it open, owing to his position as a former Zonal Secretary of his former political party PDP he wouldn't join another political party without giving formal invitations and notice to his supporters and those who are already in the party.
The press release reads in parts: "After due consultation with stakeholders and my supporters I decided to make it official to all and sundry, that I will be lending my support to the party and those who are currently serving the party in different spheres"
"As a former Zonal Secretary of my party , I deemed it fit to join the party at the ward level because of the constitution which stipulates that no matter your position in your previous party your defection must be done at the ward level before Local government or state levels"
"I have addressed my supporters in my country home. I have assured them equal representation in the party. My promise to them is that they can never be humiliated because we have a senator whose representation is characterized by equal treatment of party members irrespective of the time you joined the party"
"6th of May has been designated for my official defection to the Ruling All Progressive Congress APC at Nwachi Ukoro Amagu/Nsokkara Ward. I wish to call on the Stakeholders of the zone to join me as I say goodbye to our former party and form part of the moving train (APC)"
" I wish to invite all my supporters, stakeholders and well-wishers to avail themselves the opportunity to join us to witness the solemn event" He concluded.
