The people of the Izzo clan yesterday unanimously endorsed Mark Okechukwu Mgbada as their consensus Candidate for Ezza North LGA Chairmanship.
The event which took place at Uwaoma Primary School Okposhi Umuoghara Ezza North Local Government Area saw the presence of cream d la cream from the clan.
The Izzo clan is made up of seven political wards: Okposhi, Ndiaguzu, Umuezeoka, oshegbe Omege Amaewula, and Amuda.
The people said zoning has been their Achilles but never had the plan for a second term since the creation of the council area in 1996.
They went down memory lane to outline how they had been zoning their chairmanship before Governor Martins Elechi came and insisted that Ikeuwa Omebe must complete his second term.
Regrettably, Governor David Umahi also contributed to their woos for allowing Dr Nora Aloh to also complete a second term which has disorganized the zoning arrangement elders of the council had.
The group further alleged that even as Moses Ogodoali was coming in 2022 it was clearly stated that he was coming for a single tenure adding that anyone drumming support for him to complete his second term is not only causing problems in the LGA but also against the peace mantra of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
In their separate remarks: Williams Uhuo, and Joy Igwe Okafor Chizoba on behalf of the Stakeholders, Women and Councilors of Ezza North LGA said the clan deem it necessary to adopt Ikechukwu Mgbada for the Ezza North Councilship elections coming up by the 20th July 2024.
The group also alleged that after Nora Alo's tenure, the group gathered at Ngamgbo Ebiaji reviewed progress so far and agreed to return to the old way of zoning in the area which single term for each of the clans.
