The Deputy Leader of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and member representing Abakaliki South Constituency Rt. Hon. Deacon Joseph Ununu has distributed over one hundred bags of fertilizer to the people of his constituency including youths, widows among others.
The lawmaker distributed the fertilizer to his constituents in Abakaliki, the State Capital.
While handing over the farm input to the respective beneficiaries, the lawmaker noted that he decided to distribute the fertilizer to the people to encourage them to engage meaningfully in agricultural activities in order to boost food sufficiency in the State and the Country at large.
The lawmaker who hinted that the importance of agriculture can not be over emphasized, charged the beneficiaries not to sell the fertilizer but use it for the purpose in which it was given to them in their own best interest.
However, he commended the State Governor Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for the commitment and dedication of his adminstration in empowering Ebonyi people under his peoples charter of needs mantra and reiterated his readiness to continue empowering his constituents to better their lots.
He further used the medium to charge Youths of his constituency and Ebonyi State in general to shun any form of protest, violence or any act capable of breaching peace in the society but rather engage more in agriculture and other skills that would make them to be self reliant.
Some of the beneficiaries who could not hide their joy including Mrs Ezenyi Eucheria, Mrs Nwandugo Eunice, Mr Ogbonna Francis among others appreciated the lawmaker for the kind gesture and prayed God to continue lifting him higher with more bigger positions.
They also thanked Governor Francis Nwifuru for his leadership ingenuity which anchored on the peoples charter of needs in the State and pledged to use the farm input judiciously.
The beneficiaries which where selected across the the seven wards of the Constituency all smiled home with a bag of fertilizer.
