The National Financial Secretary of the Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FON Movement, Hon Emmanuel Ndukwe Osuu, has expressed optimism that the Edda Local Government Chairman, Prince Chima Ekumankama would win a landslide in the July 20 polls.
Ekumankama is one of the leading council chairmen contesting for their second term reelection in Ebonyi ahead of the local government elections scheduled to be held this week's Saturday by the Ebonyi State Independent National Electoral Commission, EBSIEC.
Interacting with newsmen yesterday in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, Osuu said the incoming election would be most peaceful in the area, as according to Ekumankama has no rival.
"In the Edda local government area, we don't have any opposition. The scripture says when the righteous is on the throne the masses rejoice, since we Prince Chima Ekumankama as our Council chairman and Stanley Okoro Emegha as the state APC chairman."
He noted that the state has shifted from the era of political crisis to the era of peaceful conduct of elections.
"This is not the time to beat him, get him down, and kill him as the former local government administration observed. But this very time, there's peace in Edda land. In the upcoming local government election, Edda will give the chairman 99 percent votes."
He commended the state Governor Francis Nwifuru for his concerted effort to develop Ebonyi State.
"I have to commend the governor for raising the international airport in Ebonyi State. Again his road construction intervention from Amasiri to Edda, and his massive appointment of Edda people into different political positions are indeed laudable.
"Am I to talk about the education sector, health sector, and agriculture sector, even last week, he distributed palliatives to our people."
