The Executive Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, and the APC candidate for the 20th July 2024 Council election in Ebonyi State, Hon. Barr. Sunday Basil Nwankwo has promised to redouble his administration’s efforts at bequeathing peace, legacy projects and good policies to the people of the Council in his second term. He gave the assurance at the wrap up of the party’s State constituency and ward rallies held at Central Primary school Agubia on Wednesday 17th July, 2024.
Barr. Nwankwo thanked the people of Ikwo for their show of love and solidarity to his administration and to Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru led administration in the state. He appreciated the Governor for acknowledging his efforts and for endorsing his second term in office through Executive pronouncement, which was re-echoed by stakeholders and people of Ikwo Noyo clan.
The Chairman promised not to disappoint the Governor and the people of Ikwo Noyo clan, assuring them that he will consolidate on the successes recorded in his first term, and to step down to the grassroots, the people’s charter of needs mantra of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration.
In their remarks, the Chairman of APC Campaign Council in Ikwo LGA, Chief Barr. Okeagu Ogada, the Campaign Director General, Hon. James Alaka, wife of the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Mrs. Mary Chinedu Ogah, a stakeholder, Chief Joseph Orogwu and a woman leader, Mrs. Ngozi Igwe, assured the Chairman that Ikwo people will reciprocate his inclusive and people oriented leadership through massive votes that will impress him and the State Governor.
They called on electorates, especially women to mobilize their family members to go out on Election Day and vote the Chairman and all Councillorship candidates of APC.
Handing over flags to all the Ward Councillorship candidates, the Chairman of APC in Ikwo LGA, Mr. Sunday Onuzu charged them and stakeholders of the party to mobilize massively to ensure that the party wins impressively at the polls. He emphasized the need for all APC faithful to go out and vote on that day, stressing that the party will take the results of the election seriously as a reference material in their subsequent activities.
Many dignitaries, including Development Centre Coordinators, present and former Public office holders, Leaders of APc at various levels, youth groups and other support groups, attended the campaign rally. Highlights of the event was the official handing over of APC flags to the Councillorship candidates, cultural dance, distribution of cartons of magi cube, bags of salt and money to all the wards in Ikwo LGA.
