The Acting Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Ebonyi State Chief Ricky Okorouka, yesterday at Abakaliki disclosed that the party has commenced grassroots mobilization and reconciliation geared towards emerging victorious in the 2027 general elections.
Okorouka stated this while briefing newsmen after the APGA stakeholders said the new leadership of the party in the state has received recognition from both the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Directorate of State Services (DSS) and the Commissioner of Police.
"This is a new re-birth in APGA leadership; we are going to embark on the grassroots mobilization of the citizens.
"APGA is looking for a possible way of taking over the leadership of Ebonyi State come 2027, we are interested in re-integrating the party," the Chairman said.
Okorouka commended the leadership quality of the National Chairman of the party, Chief Edozie Njoku, since his assumption of office.
"With the emergence of Chief Edozie Njoku, God has helped us to recover the party from political merchandise," he hinted.
Various stakeholders who bore their minds during the meeting, including Mr Igwe Kalu, called for unity and massive mobilization of members.
"We are not building a new party, we are on a harmonization mission and expansion of membership.
"We are starting from the creation of awareness, we will give the All Progressive Congress (APC) (ruling party) a pure opposition leadership," he added.
The meeting had in attendance the State Secretary of APGA, Mr Igwe Kanis, party faithful and stakeholders from various local government areas.
It would be noted that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja recently declared Chief Edozie Njoku, as the authentic National Chairman of APGA after a protracted legal battle.
