In keeping to his mandate and promise to account to his Constituents, the Member Representing Ikwo North State Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ifeanyi Nwakpu over the weekend held his a town hall meeting to brief his Constituents on his one year journey at the State House of Assembly.
Speaking at the event held at the Lawmaker's resident in Echara, Hon. Nwakpu appreciated the stakeholders and people of Ikwo North State Constituency for their support and encouragement for effective representation. He outlined some of his accomplished and ongoing projects within the last one year to include the ongoing renovation of Ebonyi Road Primary school Ofutu Omege Echara, installation of Solar Street lights across various wards of the Constituency, drilling of boreholes at Omege Echara and Eka Awoke villages respectively.
Others are sharing of palliatives to selected youth of the Constituency to cushion the effects of hardship in the country, distribution of wrappers, bags of rice across the constituents, sharing of over 100 bags of Fertilizers and other farm inputs to farmers across the Constituency in 2023 farming season to enhance productivity.
Hon. Nwakpu reassured the people of his commitment to continue improving lives of the constituents, sponsor bills that will have direct impact on the people and attract more democratic dividends to his constituents. He called on them to continue to support the people's Charter of needs policies of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, adding that the APC led government has done well in addressing several challenges of Ebonyians.
The Lawmaker who promised to always be accessible to his Constituents, assured them that the briefing would be made a quarterly or yearly Program that will provide them the needed opportunity to interact with him and lay down their complaints for necessary actions and implementation.
In his remarks, the chairman of the occasion and former Executive Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Hon Dave Onuoha, advised Ikwo North Constituents to continue offering their unflinching support to the lawmaker to enable him attract more developmental projects to them.
Also speaking, the immediate past Executive Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Elder Stephen Orogwu praised the leadership qualities of Hon Ifeanyi Nwakpu and described him as a seasoned legislator who is committed to offering quality representation to his peoples. He however expressed confidence that the Lawmaker will do more in years ahead and prayed he continues in the path he has chosen.
Others who offered their goodwill messages and solidarity to the lawmaker include the Member Representing Edda East Constituency, Hon Stephen Orji Igwe, Hon James Eze Alaka, Hon Stephen Nwukwu and many others.
The event attracted the presence of top government officials, Development Center Coordinators, Wards Councilors, APC Executives, Chairman Ebonyi State House of Assembly service Commission Rt. Hon Francis Elem, Chief Orji Umahi, Hon Monday Nwigbo,Hon John Amiara, Hon Sunday Otta, Hon Silas Oginyi and many others.
Highlights of the event was a vote of Confidence passed on the Lawmaker which was generally supported by the entire Constituents. Fertilizers, other farm inputs and cash gifts were also distributed to various wards of the Constituency.
