The Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Comrade Sunday Nwambam has commended the members of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC for not participating in the hunger protest in the state.
The Nigerian youths on August 1st took to the streets to stage a protest against hunger and bad governance in some states in Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The protests in some states have recorded violent demonstrations, destroying lives and properties.
Interacting with newsmen, Thursday at Abakaliki, Comrade Nwambam hailed the Ebonyi residents especially the IPAC leaders for having not allowed their members to protest in Ebonyi despite their different political affiliations.
He described the total boycott of the protest by the different political parties and the residents of the state as a true testament to the exemplary leadership style of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
Nwambam said, "Governor Nwifuru has demonstrated capacity by ensuring Ebonyi residents enjoy enabling environment," noting that, "his administration policies and programs are people's oriented.
"It's because his leadership agenda anchored on People's Charter of Needs remains practical in education, health, agriculture, civil service, in fact in all the sectors.
"The governor has shown readiness to industrialize the state, to maximize the employment rate and opportunities for Ebonyi people, to boost our economy alongside his peacebuilding and empowerment programs, among other life-touching programs."
He assured that his office would continue working tirelessly to ensure the affairs of every political party in Ebonyi are well protected.
He recalled that Governor Nwifuru during the just concluded local government election gave a level playing ground to all the parties to participate in the exercise.
The Governor's Aide said the well-meaning Ebonyi people appreciated the peaceful atmosphere recorded during the Council polls as there was no protest or litigation against the outcome of the election.
