Ebonyi Federal lawmaker, Hon Chinedu Ogah

The Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, has commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, for empowering over 100,000 youths in the area of Skill Acquisition, disbursement of cash, scholarship to further their education and training in ICT and Agricultural programmes.
He equally appreciated the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Mary Maudline Nwifuru for organizing the 2024 August Women's Meeting in Abakaliki, where she empowered Ebonyi women across the 13 Local Government Areas of the State with N5m each.
Disclosing this in a statement, Ogah added that the empowerment of these youths by Governor Nwifuru will help assist them to become self-reliant and economically empowered to face the future ahead of them.
He pointed out that Governor Nwifuru remains one of the best Governors within the South East region of the country, in the area of youth empowerment and human capital development.
Ogah, who is also the Chairman, of the House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions called on the beneficiaries to make adequate use of the funds released to them as the APC-led government in the State was determined to ensure constant empowerment of youths and different calibers of persons in the State.
The House of Representatives Member further charged the youths in the State not to trivialize the opportunities given to them to scale up their economic status in society.
He enjoined those who are yet to benefit from Governor Nwifuru's empowerment programs to be patient as plans were on to make sure that no youth was left out in the economic policies of the present administration.
"I want to commend the people-oriented Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for the numerous empowerment programs that have touched the lives of youths in the State positively.
"He gave some youths N2m each and some N1m to enable them to become self-reliant and financially independent, amid the economic challenges in the Country.
"The Governor has the youths at the center of his agenda because they are not only the future leaders of the State but also the dependable resources needed for the economic growth and development of the State.
"And so, we commend the Governor for the good work and urge him to continue for the betterment of Ebonyi people."
Ogah further commended the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Mary Maudline Nwifuru for empowering women in Ebonyi State, with cash, and bags of rice, among other numerous welfare items.
According to him, the Governor's wife is not relenting in the empowerment of women, so that they can easily make their own contributions in the running of their families.
He also called on the women of the State to continue to support Her Excellency's programs and policies, as she pilots the affairs of women to greater heights.
"The Governor's wife is doing very well and everybody is proud of her. She is competently coordinating the affairs of women without any hitch. So far, she has done well and in no distant time, her praises will be sung across South East zone of programs"
