Senator Anthony Ani, representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly has distributed 65 motorcycles to his constituents.
He also distributed farm inputs, including fertilizers, herbicides, rice, wrappers and other palliatives, to his constituents yesterday at Onicha Central School Egu-Nkwo in Oncha local government area of Ebonyi State, saying the gesture was a part of appreciating them for voting for him into power.
"It is my pleasure to inform you that I sponsored the motion for the immortalization of our departed political icon and leader, the late Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu.
"By that singular motion, the Senate dispatched a high-level delegation, including myself, to pay a condolence visit to the Ebonyi State government and the Onu family, and effort is being made to name a national monument after him.
"I also contributed effectively during the lead debate on the bill for an Act to establish student loans, which was eventually passed and assented to, and today, it is being implemented for the benefit of all Nigerians, among other legislative achievements.
"Constituency Outreach: Some of the constituency projects attracted to the Zone included the successful conclusion of arrangements for the construction of 5KM road racing h of the 5 local government areas in Ebonyi South Senatorial District, installation of solsolar-poweredreet lights across different communities in our Zone, Support to our farmers and economic empowerment of women and youths, some of which included the 65 motorcycles that will be given out today.
"We have also facilitated employment placements of many people from our Zone into key federal government agencies, just to mention a few.
"Also, in the coming months, we shall be launching our educational support programme and digital tech skills drive among our teeming young population.
"Digital technology skill is a key requirement for survival in today's world and we are embracing it squarely to ensure that our young people are sufficiently equipped to fit into the 21st century society," he said.
