The stakeholders of Umuoguosha Ward in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State yesterday extolled Governor Francis Nwifuru for embarking on rural development projects in the state.
The Deputy Speaker (DS) of Ebonyi State House Assembly (EBHA), Chief Chinedu Onah who hails from the Ohaukwu council area, said this in appreciation of the award of the construction of Umuoguduosha - Nigercem 24km road.
The lawmaker said the legacy road project would open up Ohaukwu Local Government Area to various economic activities and invariably lead to the development of the area and the state in general.
Onah at the Deputy Speaker's residence in Abakaliki, when he hosted all the political officeholders from Umuoguduosha Ward, noted that Governor Nwifuru has shown unparalleled love for the people of the state in less than 13 months in office.
He thanked the Governor for the honor given to him with the road construction, saying that it has become the highest honor to his people and himself.
Onah equally appreciated the Wife of the Governor, Mrs Maudline Mary Uzoramaka Nwifuru for her motherly role in the state and for being a good wife to the husband, as she is always there when she is needed.
The Deputy Speaker said the legacies imbibed in them as government officials by the Governor will continue to direct them in all their doings, mostly, the determination, steadfast, and honest doctrines Governor Nwifuru has taught them.
Speaking also, the State Commissioner for Power and Energy, Chief Peter Ogeh Ali, said that the award of the contract for the construction of the 24 km.
Umuoguduosha-Nigercem Road has concretized the second term of Governor Nwifuru as the road is one of the priorities of the people, having been in a very bad shape for ages.
The Special Assistant to the Governor in Youth Mobilisation in Ebonyi North zone, Comrade Paul Eze Ituma paid glowing tributes to the Governor for awarding the road construction in honor of the Deputy Speaker, Onah, and at the same time thanked the Deputy Speaker for providing himself as a vessel for the governor to be used in executing veritable projects in the state.
He assured both the Governor and the Deputy Speaker of the continuous loyalty and support of the Umuoguduosha people, as they would continue to pray and work towards the success of this administration, adding that the importance of the Umuoguduosha NIGERCEM road cannot be underestimated.
All the Government appointees in the meeting, including the Leader of the Ohaukwu Legislative Council, John Elom, the Supervisory Councilors, and Management Committee members from Umuoguduosha Ward spoke glowingly about the magnanimity of the state Governor Nwifuru and assured that both the lives, property, and equipment at the construction sites shall be adequately secured during and after the road construction.
