The Executive Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Chief Stephen Ebere Nwogba, has reappointed about five of his aides, including his Chief Press Secretary, Chidubem Okemini and Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, James Nwakpa.
Nwogba also reappointed his Personal Assistant - Isaac Nwankwegu, Special Assistant - Chukwuka Odom and Chief Security Officer, CSO - Ignatius Awoke yesterday during his second-term inaugural reception at Nkaliki, the Abakaliki local government headquarters.
He commended the state governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru, for his support in serving the Abakaliki people for the second time as their local government Chairman and described the opportunity as a rare privilege to him.
The Chairman extolled the leadership style of Governor Nwifuru, noting that his commitment to the welfare of the Ebonyi people has remained a source of inspiration to the upcoming politicians in the state.
"It is not disputable that His Excellency's unwavering commitment to the welfare of Ebonyi people has remained a source of great inspiration, especially to the upcoming politicians, given his people's oriented policies, which have undoubtedly renewed the hope of the less privileged Ebonyians.
"The numerous appointments of the people of Abakaliki Local Government into enviable positions is a clear testament to the Governor's unflinching commitment to better the lots of our people and, by extension, advance the developmental strides of the state.
"In light of the above, I wish to assure the governor of my renewed determination to ensure that the People's Charter of Needs of the present administration is fully implemented in Abakaliki Local Government.
"As we look back on the journey so far, I am proud of the significant strides we have made together. Our administration has made impactful progress in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare service delivery, agriculture, human empowerment, security, and education.
"However, I acknowledge that there were communities in our local government that did not receive the attention they deserved during our first tenure due to financial constraints.
"I promise that in this second tenure, we will make it a priority to provide more dividends of democracy to those communities.
"The tremendous achievements we have made so far would not have been possible without the support of various stakeholders."
Nwogba also thanked stakeholders and people of the Abakaliki local government area for their support in his first term in office and urged them to sustain the tempo in his second tenure to bring r id development to the area.
In his remark, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Oliver Nwachukwu, commended Nwogba for having made Abakaliki the most peaceful Council area in the state during his first term.
Other stakeholders including the member representing Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency -Chief Emmanuel Uguru, member representing Abakaliki North State Constituency -Dr Victor Nwoke, Commissioner for Lands and Survey - Chief Matthew Nwobashi promised to support the Abakaliki council boss and urged him to follow the advice of the state governor by carrying stakeholders along, prioritizing the infrastructural development and human empowerment in his second term.
