The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Ebonyi State, Chief Stephen Uchenna Igwe has charged the management committee members to always justify the reasons for their appointments by the state governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Commissioner Igwe gave the charge on Thursday during an enlarged meeting with the management Committee members of the 64 development centres in his office, Abakaliki, the state capital.
He emphasized the importance of the meeting, stating that it was aimed at sensitizing the management committee members on their roles at the grassroots as the ambassadors of the state governor.
He advised the management committee members to see their appointment as not only a call to service but a trust bestowed on them by Governor Nwifuru, saying they must give their best for the success of the present administration in the state.
"I appeal to all management committee members to avoid all forms of misunderstanding and crisis with the coordinators but serve peaceful means of addressing your concerns and problems.
"I urge you all to ensure you have monthly meetings with your Development Center Coordinators for effective administration," Igwe hinted.
The Commissioner further said that Governor Nwifiru has been doing everything possible to alleviate the sufferings of the Ebonyi people through his People's Charter of Needs mantra and maintained that no appointee was expected to disappoint him.
He highlighted the progressive achievements of Governor Nwifuru since his assumption of office and said that Ebonyi State has never had it this good and urged everyone to support his administration.
