The governor's efforts towards providing potable water to every household in Ebonyi State became visible and applaudable by the state residents, as he inspected the old Abakaliki Water scheme's low lift facility at Oferekpe.
The Oferekpe water scheme pumps water to the Juju Hill high lift station in Abakaliki, the state capital.
Nwifuru's move to revive Ebonyi State’s water schemes recently, which was in line with his administration's vision to provide water for every household, has begun to take a positive shape.
To perfect the vision, the governor embarked on the rehabilitation of the Ezillo Water Scheme, currently ongoing, after fixing the Ezzamgbo pipe factory.
These initiatives have demonstrated his commitment to ensuring access to potable water, expanding its supply to the various local government areas, including Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Ezza North, Ezza South, Izzi, and Ohaukwu, among others.
It could be recalled that Nwifuru has also invested in constructing roads leading to the old Abakaliki water scheme at Oferekpe, facilitating easier access.
Furthermore, the state-of-the-art facilities at Oferekpe will enhance the water supply to Umuogharu and surrounding areas.
Governor Nwifuru’s goal to provide water for every household in Ebonyi State has been described by our sources as an ambitious project which would improve living standards, health, and economic productivity in the state.
By revitalizing water schemes, expanding supply, and investing in infrastructure, Governor Nwifuru began to make significant strides towards ensuring that every household in Ebonyi state has access to clean water.
