Governor Alex Otti has renamed the Abia State Polytechnic Aba after the deceased former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Abia State Governor, Ukuoha Njoku Ukuoha made this in a press on Thursday.
Otti said the tertiary institution would be called Dr Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic Aba from today.
The governor declared this as a commemoration in honour of Onu, the former Abia State Governor was taking place.
Recall that Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, who died recently, would be buried on Friday after his wake on Thursday at his Uburu Country home in Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi State.
He has served human in many offices, including the National Chairman of the All Nigerians People's Party, ANPP, before his contribution, which led to the merger of other political parties, which gave birth to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Nigeria today.
