Nigeria's 10th National Assembly has saluted the King of the United Kingdom, UK King Charles III, on his 76th birthday anniversary.
The Nigerian Senate President, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio conveyed the felicitations to King Charles III during the birthday celebration organized by the British Embassy at Abuja.
Akpabio was represented by the Senate Deputy Chief Whip and the lawmaker representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, during the event held in the honor of the British Monarch and Head of the Government of the United Kingdom on Tuesday, November 6, 2024.
Romanus Uzor, the Special Assistant to the Senate Deputy Chief Whip on Media and Publicity, made this known in a press release.
According to the release, Akpabio expressed great delight with the pivotal role of the King of the United Kingdom- King Charles 111 in international relations, bilateral agreements, peacebuilding, health, and other numerous interventions.
Akpabio, on behalf of the 10th Nigerian Senate, prayed for the UK King's more years of service to humanity, adding that Nigeria and the United Kingdom have a common share of strong historical ties.
The event was attended by a wide range of dignitaries, including the Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives - Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, the British envoys, among other important figures.
