The Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ebonyi State, Hon. Nwafor Richard Nwali said the recent state PDP congress has restored the lost glory of the party in Ebonyi.
Nwali made the declaration during the weekend while granting an exclusive interview in his office at the state PDP Secretariat, Abakaliki, the state capital.
He said the lost Glory of the PDP has indeed been restored after a protracted disagreement between stakeholders of the party, as the surrounding Congress is resolved successfully.
"We have finally laid to rest all the infractions of the state Leadership tussle after the constitution of the state Caretaker Committee that was dissolved by Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, where the (Court) restrained Members of the Committee from it’s saddled responsibility," he hinted.
Reacting to the outcome of the State Congress, Nwafor reiterated that Ebonyi State conducted the most free, fair, credible, and transparent election in the just concluded State Congress.
He observed that in the history of the PDP in Ebonyi State, the PDP conducted the best party congress in the last 24 years.
He called on aggrieved party members to sheathe their swords and contribute meaningfully to the progress and development of the party at the grassroots.
“We must come together to build our party, despite our different political Interests/Ideologies, for the Greater glory of our People, since APC could not deliver on the mandate of Nigerians."
The Party Chieftain called on all members who resigned or defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC to return home and build a party with the people’s interest at heart.
"This is the time for all our members who left our party to return and salvage the Situation."
He congratulated all the newly elected state executives on their victory at the poll and charged Chief Nwele Peter Onyemaechi, the State PDP Chairman, and all State Working Committee (SWC) to serve the party diligently in their respective offices.
“You have been entrusted with a greater task; we expect the best from you," the State Publicity Secretary advised.
