The Senate Deputy Chief Whip and lawmaker representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has attracted an 'N400 million ultra-modern civic center' to his constituents.
Governor Francis Nwifuru, performed the foundation laying of the project yesterday at Isophumini village in Mbeke Ishieke community in Ebonyi local government area of Ebonyi state.
The governor represented by the State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Engr Francis Ori commended the Senator for complementing his administration efforts to develop the state.
He described the Ebonyi North Senator as a capacity federal lawmaker, noting that he attracted many impactful infrastructural projects, including roads, electricity, housing for the widows, scholarships, and other empowerment programs in less than two years in office.
He said the civic center remains very symbolic, as according to him, when completed, it would be one of the best in Ebonyi state, and shall serve many generations, especially in socio-economic development wise.
Earlier, Senator Nwebonyi explained that the civic center would be a state-of-the-art facility, a multipurpose center that stands a chance of creating job opportunities and increasing socio-economic activities in the area.
Nwebonyi noted that he attracted the civic center in fulfillment of his campaign promises to his people, who were in dire need of both civic center, roads, electricity and other life touching projects.
The Senator reassured of his unwavering commitment towards offering his constituency a quality representation, by bringing more dividends of democracy to his constituents.
He assured that no local government area in the Ebonyi North Senatorial zone will be left out in his developmental roadmap as a Senator.
He announced that he would be flagging off a 10km internal road in Izzi local government area by December 2024, but other roads in Ohaukwu local government area, and Nnodo-Amike Aba within the Nkaliki axis of Ebonyi local government area would be kicked off soon, saying work has commenced at the 1.5km concrete road in Abakaliki council area.
