The Senate Deputy Chief Whip and lawmaker representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi has called for a closer bilateral ties between the Nigeria and China countries.
Nwebonyi made this call while felicitating the new Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai yesterday at Abuja.
He thanked President Tinubu for his concerted efforts to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries, citing the many bilateral agreements he signed during his recent visit to China.
He noted that Nigeria will benefit a lot from the mutual cooperation and further advocated for more collaboration and exchange in the area of technology, security, education and economy, among others .
Recall that the new Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai was received by the President of the 10th Nigerian Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio in his office at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja on Wednesday 20th November, 2024.
Senator Akpabio equally advocated for more parliamentary collaboration between the two countries.
He said that the Nigerian legislature would leverage on the recent visit of President Tinubu to China and the Forum of China/Africa Cooperation to cement their existing bilateral relations.
Earlier, the new Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai appreciated President Tinubu for the many bilateral agreements he signed during his recent visit to China adding that he would work towards translating the numerous bilateral agreements into reality.
He also thanked the Senate President- Godswill Obot Akpabio for his hospitality and assured of closer ties and more parliamentary collaboration between Nigeria and China.
