The Big Brothers All Stars football club on Monday beat the Nnodo All Stars counterpart with 2 goals as its competitor, in the 2024 Abakaliki Veteran Football Tournament, AVFT went home with zero score.
The Big Brothers All Stars also smiled home with one million prize as the winner of the 2024 AVFT trophy which was powered by Ezzaka Otubo Hope and Care Foundation.
But the Nnodo All Stars football team was awarded N500,000 by the foundation for emerging the second runner of the tournament during the final competition at Camp David Estate Mini-Stadum, Abakaliki.
Meanwhile, the AVFT Founder, Prof Ezzaka Otubo has advised the participants of this year's tournament to develop key interest in sporting activities especially in footballing and assured of investing meaningfully in the sector.
Ezzaka represented by the Coordinator of the Foundation, Barr Dandar Otubo also assured of using his foundation to export sports talents from the state to other countries.
The Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State governor on Sports, Pius Nwankwo commended the participants of the tournament and urged young people o be actively participating in sports, in considering its contributions to peace building, unity and actualization of self sustenance in the society.
