Igboezeonicha Community Development Union in the Onicha local government area of Ebonyi State has concluded her plan to honour the Vice Chancellor of Ebonyi State University, EBSU, and former Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Prof Chigozie Nkwor Ogbu for having distinguished himself in rendering services to the humility.
The conferment of the community honour has been scheduled for 5th January 2024.
The Chairman of the committee on ceremonials of the Union, Dr Onu John Onwe yesterday disclosed this while briefing journalists in Abakaliki, the state capital.
According to him, other leaders already nominated for the conferment of the community honours included the first traditional ruler of the Onicha clan, HRH Eze Solomon Arisi Nwugballa, and Ezeogo Elder Dr Agom Eze.
Others were Chief Agwu Nwogo Agwu, late D.r Daniel Obasi Agbafor, late Rev D.r Agbafor Igwe, D.r Daniel Nwanmuo Okoro, Onyiba Chief Anthony Nwite Ez,e and M.r Ogbonnaya Obasi alias Anayo Olisa who had distinguished themselves in the service of the community, Ebonyi State, Nigeria, a and humanity.
Onwe stated that the community would use the occasion for her Igboezekuna House N100 million building fund-raising.
He urged people of goodwill from all walks of life to attend the event,t which,h in his word,s would be held at Ezeogo Agom Eze palace in Onuofia Umudomi, Igboezeonicha in Onicha local government area of Ebonyi State.
The chairman, who highlighted various offices the awardees had served with their positive impacts, said the honours meant for them would motivate other people to be more committed to embarking on humanitarian services, especially in grassroots development projects.
