The Trade Union Congress Nigeria (TUC) Ebonyi State Council has called on all the workers of the State to remain calm and dedicated to their duties while leaders work tirelessly to resolve these issues with the government. as Negotiations and Consultations are ongoing to resolve the dispute between the workers and the government over none implementation of New National Minimum wage.
The TUC Chairman, Comrade Chidi Igboji disclosed this in a communique arising from the emergency meeting of Ebonyi State Council of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria in Abakaliki the State Capital.
Igboji said the Strike by the workers is never a war against the Government but it is just a way of requesting for their rights.
The Communique which was read by the Chairman through his Vice, Comrade Aja Kelechi demanded for. Urgent Completion of the Consequential Adjustment Process.
"The Council unanimously resolved and Plead with the State government to as a matter of necessity complete the consequential adjustment process by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with relevant stakeholders. This should be followed by immediate implementation, ensuring equitable remuneration across all cadres of the workforce in alignment with the provisions of the National Minimum Wage and associated policies"
'There should be Regular Payment of Salaries, Pensions, and Gratuities for Local Government Workers. The Council expressed grave concern over the persistent irregular payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities to local government employees. This practice undermines the welfare, morale, and productivity of workers. The Council,therefore, calls on the state government to ensure the prompt and consistent payment of these entitlements as and when due"
"We demand for Inclusion of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) in the Consequential Adjustment Committee:
The Council observed that the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) has not been duly represented in the consequential adjustment committee as required by extant Labour Laws. It strongly recommends the immediate inclusion of ASCSN in the committee to ensure fair representation and more effective negotiation on workers' welfare.

"There Should be Stakeholder Engagement on Salary Table Discrepancies. The Council underscores the importance of immediate and constructive dialogue between the State Government, Labor Unions, and other Stakeholders to review and address discrepancies in the salary table"
"Prioritization of Workers' Welfare. The Council reiterates its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the welfare of workers in Ebonyi State. It urges the government to prioritize these pressing issues to promote industrial harmony and enhance productivity"
"Mitigating Workers' Transportation Challenges. To alleviate transportation difficulties faced by workers,the Council appeals to the State government to expand its transportation services by acquiring additional CNG buses to complement the existing fleet. This intervention will significantly improve workers' commuting conditions"
"Release of Workers' Promotion Results:
The Council expressed disappointment over the delay in releasing promotion results from interviews already conducted. It urges the government to instruct the relevant agencies to expedite the process, as further delays hinder workers'career progression and the overall development of the state workforce". He added.
