The people of Amudo Ezetugbala, a gateway community in Ezza South LGA of Ebonyi State, have poured encomia on a foremost industrialist and radical philanthropist, Chief Chibuike Orogwu, for his legacy of massive empowerment of Ebonyians which continued even into the new year. Speaking to media men in Amudo, a community leader and secretary of Amudo Town Union, Barr David Elom, who expressed deep appreciation of the entire Amudo people, described Chief Baby Oku as God's gift to Amudo people, Ebonyi State and the entire humanity. Barr Elom thanked God for the life of Chief Baby Oku whom the community described as a divine donation for humanity.
According to Barr Elom, "I am the secretary of Amudo Town Union, and I have the mandate of the entire Amudo Community to heartily commend Ebonyi billionaire industrialist, our great son, leader of thought and firstclass philanthropist, Chief Chibuike Orogwu (a.k.a. Baby Oku) for his unequaled empowerment of Ebonyi men, women and youths over the years.
"On January 6, 2025, Baby Oku splashed N10 million as Education or scholarship grant. Each of one hundred undergraduate students selected from across Ebonyi State went home with One hundred thousand naira. This man of compassion empowered a female accident survivor with the sum of N2 million naira as business grant that same day. Not resting on his oars, Chief Orogwu who prefers teaching youths how to fish rather than giving them fish continued his business empowerment programme by equally releasing N1 million start-up grants to the next set of five Amudo youths on that same day.
"Need we mention Baby Oku's distribution of bags of rice and various sums of money to over 1000 persons this new year or the uncountable car gifts to many, local career support and overseas career sponsorship of people across from different parts of Ebonyi State and beyond? In fact, over the years, Chief Baby Oku has literally become a human ladder through which men, youths and women from Amudo, Ezza Ezekuna, Ebonyi State and beyond climb to their destinies," the Amudo chief scribe concluded.
The Amudo community scribe equally debunked what the community described as "cheap lies" and attempts to dent the image of the community leaders through "pedestrian blackmail". Giving insights on this, Barr Elom asserted that: "The claim that Amudo Town Union executives were arrested is false and I am warning peddlers of that falsehood to desist from it. If there are people suspected of committing criminal offences, they should go to the appropriate agency in charge of criminal investigations and prosecutions to clear themselves and stop tagging Amudo leaders of thought over their travails.
"Amudo community is blessed with many humane stakeholders and philanthropists, top of which is Chief Chibuike Orogwu (Baby Oku). However, Amudo people are law abiding, including Chief Baby Oku who guides lawful people to their breakthrough by way of meaningful support and empowerment. As I charge Amudo youths to remain calm and law-abiding, criminal suspects are hereby reminded that our great son does not commit, aid or abet crime. So, lawbreakers should not expect any assistance from him."
Chief Chibuike Orogwu has positively helped humanity in Nigeria in general and Amudo community in particular, hence, his name evokes joy, hope and happiness in the hearts of Amudo citizens who have continued to celebrate him as the community's destiny-helper.
