The stakeholders of the Edda Community in Abakaliki Local Government Area, weekend hailed the exceptional and transformative leadership of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in the State.
The commendation was made by the people during the maiden celebration of 2025 Edda Community Day, which was celebrated in a grand style.
The National Treasurer of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Mathew Uguru, who chronicled the milestone achievements of Governor Nwifuru since his assumption of office, especially in the area of human capital development, noted that his impactful leadership is second to none in the State.
The APC chieftain expressed the total support and solidarity of the Edda people to the present administration towards the full realization of the people's charter of needs mantra of the Governor in the State.
He extolled Governor Nwifuru for appointing illustrious sons of the Community into his administration and charged the appointees to strive to remember those at home for the overall interest and development of the Edda Community while calling on Edda people to support APC at all levels to reap more dividends of democracy in the area.
He urged the entire Edda people to be more united and always display peace and sincerity to its fullest wherever they find themselves and harped on the need for the people to show more interest in education as it remains the bedrock of society.
The party chieftain, during the event, announced a scholarship for five persons in the Community to study professional courses at the University of their choice.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on the Iboko rice mill cluster and general manager of Ebonyi Rice World Hon. Ifeanyi Mbam commended Governor Nwifuru's human-oriented leadership in the State especially the payment of backlogs of gratuity and pension to retired civil servants as well as rehabilitation of Wilberforce Chuba Okadigbo International airport runway, rejuvenation of Ebonyi pipe production, Ebonyi rice world among other life touching projects.
Hon. Mbam, who chaired the occasion hinted that the APC government under Governor Nwifuru had favoured the people of the Edda Community, saying that Edda people would continue being supportive of his policies and programmes to achieve his vision and aspirations of a better Ebonyi State.
The chairman of the Local Government Service Commission,, Chief Romanus Nwasu,m, while commending the organizers of the programme for the job well done, thanked God for the success of the event.
Chief Nwasum enjoined the people of the Community, especially youths, to shun indulging in social vices and engage themselves in meaningful ventures that would put food on their table.
He further called on parents and guardians to monitor their children strictly to avoid indulging in crimes for a better society.
The Coordinator of Enyida Development Centre Hon. Ruben Edeh, APC chairman Abakaliki LGA Hon. Paulinus Attam, member advisory committee on the prerogative of Mercy Chief Micheal Udenwe, SA to APC National Treasurer Hon. Chukwuma Okemini, chairman Edda welfare association Mr Solomon Nwalike, president of Edda youth Assembly Abakaliki branch Hon. Izuchukwu Nkwuda and Mrs Charity Ikebe all expressed satisfaction on the unprecedented leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru in the State and urged for more support and solidarity to his administration as he continues to pilot the affairs of the State.
They also called for peaceful coexistence and unity of purpose among one another to move the Community forward.
The event featured a donation of cash for the purchase of seats and electrical repair of the Edda multi-purpose hall by the stakeholders.
