The Permanent Secretary Ministry of transport Dr. Simon Idenyi has been conferred with the chieftaincy title of Omereoha 1 of Ndiegu Okpuitumo Community by Ukpata Egbera ancient kingdom in recognition of his immense contributions to humanity, growth and development of the Community.
The chieftaincy title was given to the permanent secretary during HRH Chief Ukpata Egbara day celebration at Ndiegu Okpuitumo Community in Abakaliki Local Government Area of the State.
The chieftaincy title which was spearheaded by Chief Nwekori Nwome, marked the first ceremonial event in memory of late HRH Ukpata Egbara who leaves between 1783 to1903.
The atmosphere was vibrant as families, friends, and relatives all came together to honor Late HRH Ukptata Nworiegu and the tradition. The sight of long-time friends reunited, sharing laughter and stories, made the day even more special. It was a moment to reconnect with those that were hold so dearly and to create new memories that will last in a lifetime.
Speaking shortly after the conferment of the chieftaincy title, Dr. Idenyi expressed deep appreciation to the entire family for bestowing such honor to him, saying that it would spur him to do more to the people.
He noted that he was naturally made by God to be assist people especially the needy, saying he has sponsored many people into skill acquisitions, secured jobs to many youths and also has brought so many developmental projects in the area and pledged to sustain the tempo for the good of society.
According to him" it was last weekend that my family members Ukpata Egbara ancient kingdom gathered together and invited me that they want to give me a chieftaincy title going by my enviable track records. They conferred me the Chieftaincy title of Omereoha 1 of Ndiegu Okpuitumo Community. Omereoha is somebody that likes to help people or a philanthropist.
"I'm somebody that like to help my people in the time of their needs, I have sponsored so many of my people into skill acquisitions, I have secured jobs to youths and also i have helped in bringing Community developmental projects. Those things were what I have been doing and people are happy with me. No body asked me to do that, my mind tells me to do it and I wasn't doing it for a reward but as nature have it, I was invited to come for reward" he said
The permanent secretary also extended his deepest gratitude to the late HRH Chief Ukpata Egbara for his unwavering commitment to making the world a better place and expressed believe that his legacies would to continue to inspire and guide forever while praying for his soul to continue to rest in the bosom of the lord.
