Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Ebonyi State chapter, Chief Stanley Okorie Emegha, has declared no opposition party would displace his party from the seat of power in the state, in the 2027 general elections.
Emegha, who made the declaration on Tuesday, while interacting with journalists at Abakaliki, the state capital, maintained that "the APC is prepared to bury every opposition party before the next elections."
He said APC's determination to transform Ebonyi made the state Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru, embark on all-inclusive governance, saying before 2027, the remaining opposition party members would collapse their party structures to the ruling party in the state.
He appealed to Ebonyi people, irrespective of their party affiliation, to join hands with the governor's administration to fasten the development of the state.
"I'm personally appealing to Ebonyi people to join hands with the leadership of this state because APC is a big family that can accommodate all of us. The fact is how to speed up the development of our dear state
"It's obvious that the governor is performing beyond our expectations, so; there's a need for anybody to remain in the opposition camps. The governor is also a human being and needs everybody who will be giving him good advice so that we can move forward as a state," he said.
Speaking on his second reelection into the APC State Chairmanship position, Emegha expressed gratitude over his endorsement by Governor Nwifuru.
He, however, described it as a falsehood of the rumour making rounds in some quarters that former Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, now Minister of Works, allegedly kicked against his endorsement by Governor Nwifuru.
He noted that both Nwifuru and Umahi have been on the same page for his second term reelection and urged massive support for the APC-led administration to continue moving the state forward.
He explained that the Ebonyi APC leaders began a tour of the 13 local government areas of the state as part of their plans to strengthen the membership of the party at the grassroots level of the state.
