The Young Nigerian Voices---the Support Group of the Former Minister of State for Education, Barr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba has urged Nigerians to live harmoniously and assist the less privileged.
The Zonal Coordinator of the Support Group, Comrade Uzodimma Oji, made the call on Friday while donating food items to Muslims at the central mosque, Abakaliki, to celebrate the Eid--el--Fitr.
The zona coordinator said that Nigeria was a great country which could chart the path to greatness through the harmonious co-existence of its citizens.
"We realise that there are Muslims who can't afford food items during the Eid-El-Fitr celebration and decided to. Identify with them.
"Nigerians should realise that the needy and less privileged are part of the society and should, therefore, be assisted to survive.
"The Ramadan period calls for sober reflection on areas we have offended God and seeking his forgiveness,".
Alhaji Isah Mohammed, A Leader of the Central Mosque Abakaliki thanked the minister for his magnanimity and urged the group to sustain such ideals.
"We glorify God for your zeal to identify with the less privileged among us and pray for bountiful blessings upon you.
"The cardinal observance of Ramadan is offering alms and charity to the needy.
"God's blessing to the giver is unquantifiable, and that is why people are encouraged to give alms during and after the period,
He urged Nigerians to see themselves as one despite religious and social differences.
"We should tolerate one another and not feel superior over others,
Items donated at the Mosque by the group" 's coordinator include cartons of indomie noodles and tomatoes, among others.
