The Senate Deputy Chief Whip and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial district- Distinguished Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi has flagged off the construction of another road at Otsokpuru, Ndiebor Ezza Inyimegu autonomous community in Izzi local government area of Ebonyi state on March 17, 2025.
Senator Nwebonyi said that he embarked on the road project in order to complement the tireless efforts of the Executive Governor of Ebonyi state- His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in delivering democracy dividends to Ebonyi people.
Speaking through his Personal Assistant- Hon. Chidi Izziogo, Senator Nwebonyi explained that the road connecting the community to Iboko and Abakaliki town will be constructed on rigid concrete pavements noting that he will first of all commence with 1km out of the over 3kms of the road project. He also promised to provide potable drinking water and solar powered lights for the community.
While performing the flag off ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Izzi local Government Area- Hon. Barr. Steve Nwankpa who was represented by his Vice- Hon. Mrs Helen Aduga expressed joy over Senator Nwebonyi’s kind gestures noting that the road has been abandoned by successive administrations despite its strategic importance. She appreciated Governor Nwifuru and Senator Nwebonyi for their giant developmental strides assuring that they will reciprocate the kind gestures by voting massively for them come 2027.
In their separate speeches, the Traditional Ruler of Ndiebor Ezza Inyimegu Autonomous community-HRH, Eze Mbam Augustine Nwamini, the Town Union President of Ndiebor Ezza Inyimegu Community– Comrade Obeji Peter, the Secretary of Izzi LGA- Hon. Mrs Ngozi Nwokoro and the Councilor representing Ndiebor Ezza Inyimegu Igbuwhu ward- Hon Henry Nduka Ominyi all lauded Senator Nwebonyi’s effective representation and attraction of democracy dividends to his constituents adding that he is the best Senator from the zone.
The flag off ceremony was attended by some of the Legislative Aides of Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, community leaders, traditional rulers, party stalwarts including youths and women groups who were visibly happy with the development of their community.
