Senator Ogba made the statement while responding to newsmen after the Abakaliki FC defeated Enyimba FC at the Stephen Keshi's International Stadium Asaba, Delta State on Wednesday.
He emphasized that the team despite winning the African Intercontinental side, Enyimba Football Club, that Abakaliki FC had met tougher teams in the recently concluded first quarter of the Nigeria National League,NNL.
He said: "I thank God for making it possible for us. It is as a result of hard work on the side of players and officials that we won. However, we have done it before by removing Yobe Warriors, Katsina United who are all premier league clubs and now Enyimba FC, and we are meeting Rangers and we are not scared."
The Chief Coach of the team, Ifeanyi Onyedika expressed joy over the victory but said that despite the victory, Enyimba FC was not the toughest team they had encountered since they floated the new club.
"There's no special thing, it's just that the boys want to do it. They give in their own best considering what they played at home last week, they feel to make up that game. To be frank with you, we have meet some tough team in NNL despite the victory, when we met Sporting Lagos, despite their 1-1, the team was very tough which the boys proved their strength.
However, the Abakaliki Football Club defeated Enyimba FC in a brilliant first half goal from Okoro Chukwudi and a decisive score from another striker, Eni Daniel in the second half of the match, thereby qualifying for quarter final in the 2025 presidential FA cup.
