Ebonyi youths from the Ishielu local government area of the state have warned the state whistleblower, Nwoba Chika Nwoba to desist from unnecessary social media attacks against the leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru.
The Ishielu youths also called on their Ikwo counterpart and stakeholders to caution their son and brother, Nwoba Chika Nwoba to desist from his alleged destructive criticism against Governor Francis Nwifuru-led administration in the state.
The Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Ishielu local government area on Youth Mobilization, Egbe Stephen Chinoso yesterday made the call and alleged that the said Chika Nwoba had produced many negative articles, most of them were false fabrications against Governor Nwifuru and his administration efforts.
He contended that since the state returned to civilian government, no Ebonyi citizen had badly criticised the serving governor like Nwoba did against Nwifuru, even before ascending to his current position.
"We are not happy with the article produced by one Chika Nwoba. Actually, we are not against criticism, because criticism against the government in power is a guide, which lets people in the seat of power know where they are having lapses, but it's supposed to be a constructive one. It shouldn't be a direct attack.
"Senator Sam Egwu has served as the first Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, there was no direct attack like this way, everything was constructive. Chief Martins Elechi has been our governor also, but an attack against him was a constructive criticism and the same thing with Senator David Nweze Umahi, who is now the Minister of Works. All criticism against them was constructive. We are not saying Chika Nwoba should not criticize the government in power just like I said before.
"However, criticism should be constructive, serving as a guide to government in power, it shouldn't be a direct attack on His Excellency or his aides. On this note, we, the youths of Ishielu local government area have totally condemned such attacks on our governor.
"Therefore, we call on the youth of Ikwo local government area and entire stakeholders from Ikwo local government area to swingle into action and call their son in order.
"Even if he has to criticize the government in power or anybody, it should be constructive criticism. It's because nobody knows it all. Nobody can be God, it's only God can do everything perfectly and I believe our governor is not God. He's a mortal man, he has his mistakes, but we must not expose him so much.
"Exposing him is a kind of destroying our own leader and dear state as well. He is our brother and also our son. Even if he's making a mistake, we must support him to succeed, very constructively. Presently, if you look into the state, you can see life-touching projects are scattered all over the state."
Egbe commended Nwifuru's transformative projects in Ebonyi State, particularly in Ishielu LGA where he said the governor was then constructing a 25km road in a rigid concrete pavement with other of his works still in progress.
"In my local government, Ishielu he fixed a 25km road there. In less than three months, the road was awarded, 10km has already been completed and work is still in progress, likewise in every other local government area. He built 170 bungalows for the displaced persons in my village in Ishielu LGA. And they are all completed, and every other local government has expensive projects.
"I urge people to be patient because our governor will surely give us quality work in his administration and he has been delivering very creditably well since he assumed office," he added.
